About Me
I have worked in primary and middle schools as a teacher, deputy head and head teacher since 1987. I have successfully led 4 primary schools in West Yorkshire over a period of 19 years. These have been inner-city, village, CofE and multi-cultural schools.
I am a qualified teacher and have both the NPQH and the NPQEL qualifications, I currently work with a number of schools and a multi-academy trust as a consultant and improvement partner. I have also worked as an interim head in a school with serious weaknesses, and as a schools partnership advisor for a large ITT provider in Leeds.
I am an active OFSTED inspector, I have lead and teamed on over 25 inspections across the north of England, including several under the new ‘renewed framework’ in 2026.
I have extensive experience of school governance, having been a parent, staff, Local Authority and headteacher governor in 7 different schools. I am trained to carry out external reviews of governance.
I enjoy travel and photography. Please visit my Gallery pages to see some of my images.
